Mihir Joshi CEO

Mihir Joshi is one of the few venture capitalist in the country who holds complete venture capital life cycle experience At GVFL, he has been involved at all stages of Venture Capital life cycle including raising of capital, structuring of Funds, investments and harvesting returns to the investors. He also has the, experience of liquidation of first three Funds.

As a part of the top management team at country’s premier Venture Capital firm, Mihir has advised senior management of the portfolio companies of GVFL on business model, growth strategies, pricing, customer segmentation, organizational design, technology and IPO. His multi sector experience brings value to the portfolio companies. He is on the Board of number of companies. As a VC partner he ensures strong implementation of Corporate Governance practices.

He has been participating as a Speaker on various events organized by FICCI, CII, and many other institutions and regulatory authorities.

Mr. Joshi has been advocate of various regulatory policies and reforms and has been involved in various initiatives of Government of India He is a member of Screening Committee of Technology Entrepreneurship Program (TePP) in Department. of Science & Technology (Govt. of India)..and has participated as an evaluation panel member for setting up of Biotech Incubation centre by Department of Biotechnology, GOI. He has also played a key role in shaping of national level Ignition grant scheme on Biotech project, GOI.
Mr.Joshi plays an active role as a Governing Board member of various incubation centre to promote entrepreneurship which includes Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, IIM, Ahmedabad, Incubation centre of DA-IICT, Gandhinagar and St Xavier's Research Foundation. He is also Chairman of Indo American Chamber of Commerce, Gujarat Branch.

Mihir is a member of Cost & Works Accountants of India. and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Arvind Modi Associate Vice President

Arvind handles investments in various sectors including IT, M-Commerce, Education, Clean Technology and Manufacturing sectors. His other responsibilities include Deal Sourcing, working closely with investee companies and Divestment.

Prior to joining GVFL, Arvind has worked with HSBC where he was part of Credit Risk Management team. He also has a significant exposure in project finance for a reputed manufacturing company. He has over six years of experience in Venture Capital, Investment Banking and Project Financing.

A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Arvind also has a MBA in Finance from Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst of India-Hyderabad. He has undergone a "Venture Capital Development Program" at Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

Sankalp Bajpai Associate Vice President

Sankalp Bajpai supports Team’s investments by identifying and analyzing opportunities across sectors. He is involved in making investments across the sectors including IT, Manufacturing and Education. His responsibilities include Deal Sourcing, Due Diligence, assisting investee companies and Divestment.

Sankalp has more than seven years experience. Prior to joining GVFL, he has worked with ING Vysya Bank Ltd, as a part of the Credit Risk Management team. He played a pivotal role in multiple projects related to ‘Credit Risk Management’ and ‘Wholesale Lending’ operations of the Bank.

Sankalp received a B.E. in Computer Science from Karnataka University and MBA in Finance from Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst of India - Hyderabad. He has also undergone Venture Capital Development Training at Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

Sachin Yasatwar Senior Associate

Sachin has been with GVFL since 2006. He has been managing investments of the Gujarat Biotechnology venture Fund. He is involved with the various stages of Investments including Project screening, Deal sourcing, Due Diligence, Valuation, Deal structuring and Deal closure. He assists the investee companies in streamlining operations, devising strategies and Business development.

Prior to joining GVFL, Sachin worked for Indon Healthcare.

Sachin has an MBA in Biotechnology from the Pune University, and a B.Pharm from Nagpur University. He has participated in Venture Capital Development Program at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

Maanan Kamdar Associate (Biotech Project)

Maanan has over 4 years of experience in biotechnology research. Prior to GVFL, she was associated with Zydus Research Centre where she was a part of Cell and Molecular biology team. She was involved in cloning, assay development and biomarker analysis in the drug discovery team. She was also involved in validation for novel targets, feasibility and doability analysis, carrying out proof of concept studies and development and validation of screening cascades.

She has done M.Sc. (Biotechnology) from Nirma University and M.Phil (Biotechnology) from Gujarat University.
